SUSPECT SOUGHT FOLLOWING ASSAULT IN RICHMOND HILL
York Regional Police is seeking public assistance to identify a suspect wanted for an assault on a 22-year-old female at a bar in the Town of Richmond Hill that has left her with serious injuries.
On Friday, April 15, 2016, shortly before 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance in a bar located in the area of Highway 7 and East Beaver Creek Road. When officers arrived they located several people suffering from injuries as a result of a fight that began inside the bar and spilled out into the parking lot. One of the injured people, a 22-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Since the incident took place, investigators have been able to determine that a fight broke out between two groups of people who were inside the bar. As the altercation continued outside, a man struck the female victim’s face which resulted in her falling face-first to the ground. A short time later the same man struck the female victim a second time. The suspect left the area prior to police arrival.
Investigators have been working diligently on this investigation but have exhausted all leads and have been unable to identify the suspect. They are now releasing images and video surveillance of from the incident and appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect.
